Software Engineering Instructor (Part-Time)

Position Overview

We are looking for a part-time Software Engineering Instructor to join our team. The Software Engineering Instructor position will play a substantial role in leading the technical training programs and supporting our justice-involved individuals. They will contribute to Justice Reskill’s learning platform, fulfilling the needs of our students, along with regulatory requirements and quality management. The Technical Instructor will interface directly with our technical team and build the curriculum for our learning platform to ensure students are prepared for a successful restart in thriving careers and lives.

Job requirements

Responsibilities

  • Teach classes with existing curriculum and syllabi on front-end and full-stack web development to cohorts of justice involved students
  • Meet with students one to one to provided targeted tutoring, mentoring and support along their learning journey
  • Communicate students' progress, needs and struggles to our student experience team in order to provide them with whole-person support
  • Collaborate with colleagues to make iterative improvements to our instructional curriculum

Requirements

  • 1+ years of professional experience building web applications using tools including: HTML, CSS, Javascript, React and Node
  • Empathy and the ability to understand and adapt to the needs of the Justice Reskill student population
  • Teaching experience is not required but highly desired
  • Availability to teach classes on workday evenings and/or Saturday afternoons

Salary + Benefits

This role will have a hourly wage in the $40 to $60 range depending on experience.
